September 2016: Alan is now appearing in the West End musical 'Kinky Boots', and is playing the role of Don. Cast changes took place on Monday 15 August (with an official media night/1st birthday gala performance having taken place on Thursday 8 September 2016. Alan joined with fellow new cast members David Hunter (Charlie), Elena Skye (Lauren) and Cordelia Farnworth (Nicola). Matt Henry continues in the role of Lola (for which he won the 2016 Olivier Award for Best Actor), as does Michael Hobbs as George. Further casting information can be found here

The show, with a script written by Harvey Fierstein and music by the legendary Cyndi Lauper, continues to play at the Adelphi Theatre. Tickets can be booked via the official website with the show now booking until 6 May 2017.

 

May 2016: KINKY BOOTS: This summer, Alan is very excited to be joining the cast of the Olivier Award winning 'Kinky Boots' in London's West End. March 2016: As of this April, Alan will be appearing on tour in the UK premier of 'Swap'. This "hillarious farce" is written and directed by legendary actor Ian Ogilvy. Ian is well known for following on from Roger Moore and starring as Simon Templar in the popular TV show 'Return of The Saint'. Ian has also starred in many films and TV shows including 'We Still Kill the Old Way', 'Death Becomes Her', 'Upstairs Downstairs', 'Murder She Wrote').

The play is produced by popular producers talking Scarlet. Alan plays the role of Harry Hanson in the play which tours to some of the UK's best regional theatres (venues include; Wolverhampton Grand, Blackpool Grand, Churchill Theatre Bromley, Swansea Grand and many more). 'Swap' will be making its UK premiere having previously run at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Theater, the Theatre of Comedy in Warsaw (for five years) and has also been staged at the Yermolova Theatre in Moscow.

"Brian Flowers and his wife Susan arrive at their house swapping summer vacation in Spain, only to discover they’ve unknowingly traded houses with a British gangster. The mess gets bigger and the clean-up gets sillier as ex-girlfriends, twin brothers and dead bodies all start piling up in this hilarious farce written and directed by Ian Ogilvy".

 

February 2016: Alan has recently filmed a short film for Essex Police, 'Difficult Conversations'. The short film discusses the difficulties employers can often have in "managing people".

 

January 2016: You can currently see Alan in an advert on British and German Television for web retailer Amazon, where he reminds one lady of a roast chicken whilst he shows of some of his yoga skills (or lack of!).

 

January 2016: Alan has now finished playing Ghastly Gordon in 'Jack & the Beanstalk' at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds having performed 76 shows, and having received some lovely reviews.

 

December 2015: Alan is now playing the role of Ghastly Gordon in 'Jack & the Beanstalk' at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds. The show runs until January 11, and promises lots of familiar songs, and traditional pantomime fun. Tickets can be booked here.

 

November 2015:You can currently see Alan in the Green Flag TV adverts for ITV Weather. Alan has also recently filmed an advert for web retailer Amazon, where he shows of some of his yoga skills (or lack of!).

 

August 2015: Alan is delighted to be spending Christmas at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds, playing the villainous Ghastly Gordon in the theatre's 2015/16 pantomime 'Jack & the Beanstalk'. Alan is excited to be working at the oldest surviving Regency Theatre in the world, (and one of only eight Grade One listed theatres in the UK). More information, and tickets can be found here.

 

July 2015: Alan recently played the role of Big Dave Welch in a commercial for American cellular network Sprint. the advert can be found on YouTube by following this link Sprint, Mobility-as-a-Service Ovation

 

May 2015: On May 13 2015, Alan played the role of Big Davey in he 10 Year Anniversary Gala Performance of 'Billy Elliot the Musical', the show was attended by many famous faces, including Elton John (whom Alan delighted in meeting in person), the show was introduced by Stephen Daldry and Lee Hall and featured 5 different children playing the role of Billy.

 

September 2014: On Sunday 28 September Alan performed in the record breaking live cinema broadcast of 'Billy Elliot the Musical Live' directed by Stephen Daldry, and choreographed by Peter Darling. The cinema broke all live broadcast box office records, and was the top cinema release for the weekend, it was beamed live to over 550 cinemas in the UK & Ireland (taking almost £2,000,000 in a single day), 'Billy Live' was also broadcast to cinemas around the world on the day, and in the following week. Alan performed as Big Davey. The DVD of the live performance will be released on 24 November.

 

September 2014: Alan co-produced (for What Was That? Productions) a London run of Adebayo Bolaji's play 'In Bed' in association with Bolaji and his Ex Nihilo Theatre Company. The play starred MOBO Award winner Allyson Ava Brown ('Les Miserables' West End, 'The Secret Diary of a Call Girl' ITV) and Adeabyo Bolaji who has appeared in several acclaimed shows, these include playing the original Subway Ghost in 'Ghost the Musical', 'Scottsboro Boys' Young Vic Theatre, 'The Color Purple' Menier Chocolate Factory and has appeared in various screen productions, most notably the most recent James Bond movie 'Skyfall'. The original production of 'In Bed' was co-produced by Alan and Adebayo in 2009 at the Questors Theatre in their home town of Ealing. The play ran at the London Theatre Workshop and played between 15 & 20 September.

March 2014: Alan is delighted to have extended his engagement in the West End production of 'Billy Elliot the Musical' as Big Davey/Ensemble for a further year. He wll be appearing in the production until May 2015 and is very excited to be part of the 10th anniversary of this extraordinary production. The show continues to play at the Victoria Palace Theatre and will soon be starring the fantastic Ruthie Henshall.

 

May 2013: Alan is now appearing as Big Davey/Ensemble in 'Billy Elliot' at the Victoria Palace Theatre until Spring 2014. Cast change was on 13 May 2013, and performances are Monday-Saturday. Alan was also recently featured in an article in the Cambrian News which can be seen here

 

April 2013: Alan will be soon joining the ensemble, and taking over the role of 'Big Davey', in the long running West End production of 'Billy Elliot' at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London. Written by Lee Hall, with music bySir Elton John, the show has now run for 8 years to continuous packed houses. The production is directed by Stephen Daldry, with associate direction by Julian Webber. January 2013: Alan has just finished appearing in 'The Incredible Book Eating Boy' at The MAC Belfast in their joint prouction with Cahoots NI. Adapted from Oliver Jeffers' original story, the script, score and book were penned by well known composer/writer, Conor Mitchell ('Goblin Market', 'Mathilde'). The show was very well received, and enjoyed receptions by thousands of audience members, the production also received good reviews through out it's run.

December 2012: The World Premiere performance of 'The Incredible Book Eating Boy' took place on Thursday 29 November, to a sold out audience at The MAC Belfast. September 2012: Alan is very excited to be working with Cahoots NI in Belfast this winter. Alan will be playing the role of Dad/The MC in a brand new production of 'The Incredible Book Eating Boy'. This new musical is being adapted from award winning, Brooklyn based writer Oliver Jeffer's short story. This new musical is being produced by Cahoots (who produce world class children's shows) in association with The Metropolitan Arts Centre (The MAC) Belfast. The show is part of the opening season of the new £18,000,000 venue which has had the support and backing from stars such as Meryl Streep, Sean Bean, Geraldine Hughes and Mariella Frostrup. October 2012: Alan to co-produce professional production of Sir Alan Ayckbourn's 'Life of Riley'. The production is currently scheduled to play Aberystwyth Arts Centre on 17 & 18 April, and The Dragon Theatre, Barmouth on 19 April. See here for more...

June 2012: In 2012 Alan originated and played Burt in the No. 1 Tour of children's musical "The Wheels on the Bus" which opened at Buxton Opera House in February 2012. The tour was produced by Richard Temple, directed by Marc Day, and visited venues such as Theatre Royal Wakefield, New Theatre Cardiff and many more!
